Judge Slaps Cassidy with Injunction Order for the Fourth Year

April 26, 2012 Leave a comment

Apparently someone in the US judicial system is awake and paying attention.  A judge in the state of Arizona has once again issued a workplace injunction order against William Cassidy, enforcing the law that he can not come into contact with Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo, Spiritual Teacher and Director for Kunzang Palyul Choling in Poolesville, MD.  (www.tara.org)

Further, Cassidy, by enforcement of this order cannot come into contact with any members of KPC without violating the injunction issued by Judge Little in Payson, Arizona.  Although the order was issued in the state of Arizona, it is enforceable by law enforcement across the US.

It’s good to know that at least there can be some protection for Jetsunma and her community from the stalker.  We rejoice in this victory.

Mana, menace, and mischief… ?

April 22, 2012 Leave a comment

What next? As if the daily harassment and barrage of lies from the stalkers is not enough, it would seem that “they” have escalated, which unfortunately is the progression of a stalker.  Stalkers will “up the anty” until they perpetrate physically.  They suffer from an obsessive compulsive disorder, making them physically and mentally incapable of stopping the behavior.  It’s an unfortunate karmic consequence, and offers a good teaching on cause and effect.

Investigators for the blog were contacted and informed that apparently a very low flying helicopter has been making specific traffic patterns at Kunzang Palyul Choling (KPC), the spiritual community and Temple founded and directed by Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo (www.tara.org).  Further, not only was KPC visited, but on the same day, the same aircraft was seen at Jetsunma’s home that is currently being prepared for the real estate market.

At both locations, a helicopter, flying at extremely low altitudes was seen circling in a manner that would seem as if “they” were looking for something specific, or perhaps just gathering information.  Which, all “they” had to do was watch Jetsunma’s twitter stream or the KPC website, and “they” would see that Jetsunma and her community continue to offer a place of spiritual refuge, having just celebrated 27 years of the 24/7 prayer vigil, and offering many ways to participate in compassionate activities.

Instead, “they” decided to pay for a hired gun (or horse!…?) to do “rounds” at both the Temple and Jetsunma’s home.  What are “they” looking for?  Perhaps “they” are interested in knowing about the current renovations of the Temple which has been in existence for almost 30 years, maintaining daily Buddhist practices, one of the nation’s largest crystal collections, and the seat for Kyabjé Drubwang Pema Norbu Rinpoche in the United States.

Investigators report that local authorities have been contacted, and this could prove vital in the future.  It begs the question, why a helicopter?  For those who may not know, helicopters have different regulations to follow than single and twin engine airplanes.  Chopper pilots have a lot more leeway when it comes to airspace, and far more difficult to track.  However, “they” may not be as smart as “they” think.

We offer prayers that Jetsunma and her sangha remain safe from harm’s way, and that the stalkers can find the true path of compassion, offering to make the world a better place, and realizing that the harassment and lies serve no one.

Can Women Achieve Enlightenment

April 19, 2012 Leave a comment

A while back we received a comment that indicated that the only way to attain enlightenment is to be reborn as a male.  We wanted to repost our investigation on the issue.

Buddhism for the most part is male dominated, and yes, even chauvinism lives within the ranks of the religion, hence the comment to the blog.  There are some Buddhists who say that the only way to attain enlightenment is to be reborn as a male, and in the Vinaya, the monastic code of conduct, women have more vows than men…yes, that is all true.  It is also true that Buddhist leaders in Asian countries are almost always men.

Let’s look at the history of Vajrayana Buddhism, where women have always played key roles.  The Indian tantric master who introduced Vajrayana into Tibet, Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche), had many consorts. Among these were two who played pivotal roles in his teachings. One was the Princess Mandarava of Zahor in India who chose the Dharma over wealth and power that was hers for the taking if she had so chosen. Padmasambhava came to Zahor specifically to teach her and make her his consort. The other principal consort of Padmasambhava was Yeshe Tsogyal, a highly realized Tibetan yogini. Originally one of King Trisong Deutsen’s queens, she later became Padmasambhava’s spiritual consort. Thus two of the foundational figures of Vajrayana Buddhism were highly accomplished women.  You can find out more about these two consorts in particular as well as some history of great yoginis by referring to our post, Women in Vajrayana Buddhism https://protectingnyingma2.wordpress.com/?s=women+in+buddhism

There has been controversy over the years that while women can attain enlightenment, there are no female Buddhas.  Many great female writers and “activist” along with being Buddhist have written about the early female Buddhists (http://www.wisdom-books.com/ProductExtract.asp?PID=10924).

In the tantric iconography of the Vajrayana practice path of Buddhism, female Buddhas do appear. Sometimes they appear as consorts but many have appeared as the central figures of tantric sadhana in their own right. (Shaw, Miranda (1994). Passionate Enlightenment:Women in Tantric Buddhism. New Jersey: Princeton University Press).

For the ordinary practitioner, the role of women in Vajrayana Buddhism is equivalent to that of men. While it is true that in Tibet monastic institutions were nearly always headed by men, female practitioners were greatly respected and revered. In 1985, a western woman named Alyce Zeoli was identified by the 11th throneholder of the Palyul Lineage (Nyingma school of Buddhism) His Holiness Penor Rinpoche that Alyce Zeoli is indeed the reincarnation of Genyenma Ahkon Lhamo, the sister of Rigdzin Kunzang Sherab, the First Throneholder of the Palyul lineage.  Alyce Zeoli was given the name Ahkon Norbu Lhamo with the honorific title of Jetsunma.

The first Ahkon Lhamo spent most of her life in meditation in a cave far above the monastery and was regarded as a female emanation of enlightened mind. She was widely considered to be a living saint during her lifetime, and so many nuns came to hear her teachings and practice with her that the hills around the cave in which she lived in retreat became known as the “Red Hills”, a name which persists even today.  Upon her death, she left a miraculous relic that became one of the most cherished at Palyul.  That relic can be seen today at Kunzang Palyul Choling in Poolesville, MD.

You can learn more about Jetsunma at http://www.tara.org/jetsunma-ahkon-lhamo/biography/, who continues to teach the world about the great Bodhichitta using the modern times of technology:

Women are considered to be superior practitioners to men as they are said to have a greater capacity for wisdom. In the Vajrayana view, the female is symbolic of wisdom, while the male is symbolic of compassion, which is somewhat opposite of the way the sexes are viewed in the West. The union of the male and female principles, compassion and wisdom, is known as bodhicitta and is enlightenment itself.

It is clear that women play a vital role in the practice of Vajrayana Buddhism and are essential to the attainment of the ultimate goal, enlightenment. Without them, there would be no Diamond Vehicle.

Khandro Rinpoche, a female lama in Tibetan Buddhism, downplays the significance of growing attention to the topic:

“When there is a talk about women and Buddhism, I have noticed that people often regard the topic as something new and different. They believe that women in Buddhism has become an important topic because we live in modern times and so many women are practicing the Dharma now. However, this is not the case. The female sangha has been here for centuries. We are not bringing something new into a twenty-five hundred-year-old tradition. The roots are there, and we are simply re-energizing them.”   (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women_in_Buddhism).

The various schools and traditions within Buddhism hold different views as to the possibilities of women’s spiritual attainments. Feminist scholars have also noted than even when a woman’s potential for spiritual attainment is acknowledged, records of such achievements may not be kept – or may be obscured by gender-neutral language or mis-translation of original sources by Western scholars. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women_in_Buddhism).

Khandro Tsering Chödrön , who passed away just this year (May, 2011) was the spiritual wife of Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö, and was universally acknowledged as one of the foremost female practitioners of Tibetan Buddhism of recent times and was considered to be an emanation of Shelkar Dorje Tso, another consort of Guru Rinpoche.  (http://www.rigpawiki.org/index.php?title=Khandro_Tsering_Ch%C3%B6dr%C3%B6n)

Simply google Female Buddhist Masters, and get prepared to be bombarded by the literature and commentary on the presence and significance of women in Buddhism, and the great female Buddhist masters, who have accomplished, and are qualified to teach.  Perhaps this is a difficult pill to swallow for the insecure, but we submit that your position on the matter needs revisiting, and we are honored to offer the truth about women in Buddhism, enthusiastically acknowledging that female Buddhas, thank goodness, do appear in the world.

If you’re still confused, perhaps this video will help your study: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6CcwD1ryZ0&noredirect=1

And, for the reader who wrote to us on the subject, perhaps you can share your sources that contradicts this information…in the sutras, page and verse.

Andrew Wilson and William Cassidy, sitting in a tree …

April 11, 2012 Leave a comment

Investigators at Protecting Nyingma have long known about the relationship between Andrew Wilson and William Cassidy.  In truth, it’s not rocket science given that much of 2010 and 2011 Wilson joined the onslaught of defamation, harassment and threats against Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo, to the point that the FBI obtained a search warrant from a federal judge to raid his house (as well as Cassidy’s) in February 2011.  Wilson continued however while Cassidy sat in a federal prison.

And now that close confident, secretary and student to His Holiness Penor Rinpoche, Lobsang Chopel has passed (due to suspicious circumstances so we are told), Wilson and Cassidy feel even more free to say and do what they want, even if it isn’t true and damages the teachings of the Buddha.  Given the established relationship between Cassidy and Palyul Lama, Ogyen Tulku, one can only imagine the glee Cassidy must feel from this suspicious death of Lobsang Chopel.  He probably feels he still has a back door open to him into the Palyul Lineage.

Lobsang was the sole keeper of many important messages within the Palyul Lineage, and outspoken about his support of Jetsunma, and her organization.  It is a tragic loss, and shame that his death is ridden with such suspicious circumstances.

Anyone who follows the blog, Digital Tibetan Buddhist Altar knows how William Cassidy feels about rabbits, and today’s tweet from Wilson advocating and supporting William Cassidy’s blog “Let’s Talk About Rabbits” only supports our theory of their long love affair for one another.

Why Wilson and Cassidy both hate Jetsunma remains a mystery, unless you understand the many accomplishments by Jetsunma, which can be found by simply visiting www.tara.org and one can see and understand how con-men, stalkers, and felons may feel so emasculated.

A day doesn’t go by where Wilson is not sitting at a computer for hours attacking Jetsunma, who moves forward with her life (which must make him even crazier than thought to be), reaching thousands on Twitter and through her personal blog, http://www.tibetanbuddhistaltar.org/ all of which speak to compassion, causes of suffering, and the teachings of the Buddha.  How is it that someone like Wilson has the time to spend countless hours attacking Jetsunma online?  The experts will tell you that stalkers ultimately end up losing their jobs, spouses, homes, friends and family because they become so infatuated with the victim they can’t do anything beyond obsessing over their target, in this case, Jetsunma.   Those same experts will tell you that the stalker will put considerable research into their victims; all the while fantasizing they have some type of romantic relationship with their victim.  This was definitely the case with William Cassidy; he actually believed he and Jetsunma had a relationship when in fact…they never did.

We wonder how Andrew Wilson’s girlfriend, Gina, must feel about the level of attention that Wilson gives to Jetsunma…and Cassidy for that matter.  We can only speculate she must feel completely abandoned by him at this point.  Experts, such as Gavin DeBecker, have spoken and written books concerning the behavior of “the stalker” and how law enforcement has their hands tied in many ways.  The American Judicial system simply has not caught up with this type of criminal behavior.   A federal judge ruled in favor of William Cassidy regardless that he sent Jetsunma over 8,000 defaming, harassing, and threatening tweets in a short time period.  The US Attorney can still seek re-indictment on the case.

What has to happen before something is done?  Experts say that unfortunately something “bad” does happen before law enforcement can act upon the stalker’s behavior.  Does that mean Jetsunma lives in fear until her life is threatened at gunpoint before a law enforcement official feels he or she can do something about these men?

It’s obvious that Andrew Wilson and William Cassidy are the toxic twins, or “in bed together” as some might say.  But why?  What’s in it for Andrew Wilson? Fame, notoriety, a break from boredom, what? Unfortunately, stalkers don’t quit until either they find a new target, or they reach that breaking point, and something “bad” does happen.  De Becker explains in his books (you can find them on amazon.com) how most victims have to change their name, move away, start a different livelihood.  These are not really options for a recognized and enthroned Tulku, such as Jetsunma, who brings benefit to thousands in spite of the daily onslaught from Wilson, and the behind the scene antics from William Cassidy, who has not been quite as bold online since his yearlong detainment with US Marshals.  Now, he works behind the scenes and let’s Wilson do his “dirty work.”

The Truth Hurts…

March 14, 2012 Leave a comment

When faced with the truth and most especially when it’s made public by any means, it hurts like a knife, and that is what Andy Wilson is feeling; the sharp edge of the blade after yesterday’s posting on our blog.

He wants to paint a picture that he is the innocent one in the stalking of Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo, yet when one reads his tweet stream, it’s more about slandering Jetsunma than reaching Kensho.   His continuous pattern of hiding behind avatars, and his girlfriend, is a perfect display of his immaturity, afflictions and delusion.  Just like in the year of 2010, when asked by members of Jetsunma’s organization if he was William Cassidy, he never responded, rather he continued to portray himself as Cassidy.  He had ample opportunity to verify his identity, but he didn’t.  The same is true now, he hides behind his girlfriend Gina, and although there is no proof she remains with him, we assume that they are together.  And, he hides behind avatars, mocking Steven Seagal.  Why should Cassidy say anything derogatory against Jetsunma when he has someone like Wilson to do his slandering and harassment?  All Bill needs to do is feed Andy a little candy, and it’s off to the races.

It’s funny how Andy acts so shocked by the FBI raid when he was the one who joined forces in the threats against Jetsunma, and never identified himself.  One such threat actually stated that Jetsunma would die in 2011.   It takes a real coward to hide behind the masks and making threats.

Andrew Wilson is the stalker with his constant tweet stream day in and day out about Jetsunma.  Why can’t he just move on?  Why can’t he get off the soap box?  That’s just it, when you’re in bed with someone like Bill Cassidy, you’re stuck until you leave and that takes courage.   Both of these men want to control women, and the more powerful the woman is, the more they want to control her.  It speaks to their individual insecurities; that’s not Buddhism or Kensho.

When Cassidy was finally arrested and detained in February of 2011, we at PN received hundreds of comments relieved he was off the streets…and off the internet.  We also received many comments from people that know Cassidy, and afraid of him, fearing he would retaliate if they ever disclosed what they know of him.   We respect and protect their safety, and therefore did not and do not disclose their comments on the blog.

The threats never stop, in some shape, form or fashion, Andy keeps dealing it out.  What does Jetsunma do?  She displays the qualities of a Bodhisattva; teaching every day, many times multiple times a day about compassion, suffering and she is actively involved with relieving the suffering of others, all the while displaying courage in spite of the taunts and threats.

The truth hurts, Andrew.  Are you going to fight? Or are you going to cultivate Kensho?

William L. Cassidy – a CONpendium

March 7, 2012 5 comments

Do you want to protect yourself and your organization from falling for a con-man?  As with protection from any predator, knowledge of his nature is the first step.

We offer the following account of the activity of William L. Cassidy, currently operating scams in the Dharma community under the name Tulku Urgyen Tenpa Rinpoche, and  on twitter as @tenparinpoche.  Cassidy also operates @tulkuogyen on twitter and Tulku Ogyen’s blog.  We feel that scrutiny of his sheds light on his current activities.

We have presented a great deal of information in this post–so grab a cup of coffee or tea and settle in for the story. The images below will lead you to source articles online, so you can see where we obtained our information—you don’t need to take our word for it!  We simply want you to be able to make an informed decision, should you have the misfortune to have this person touch your life.

Cassidy has claimed over the years to have CIA experience, especially concerning Asian investigations. Here is a list of the books he authored while wearing this hat:

http://www.iaaci.com/Features/features.htm Link to booklist

In connection with this Asian investigations background, Cassidy claims particular expertise in regard to money laundering in Asia.

http://www.michelpicard.ca/document/013.pdf Link to PDF on Chinese Money Laundering

In the list below of books he authored, you can see a range of subjects, from his paper “Political Kidnapping,” authored in 1978, to his pamphlet “Quick or Dead,” authored in 1994.

http://www.swaptree.com/books/author/william-l-cassidy/428846/

If you study this list, you can see that in 1991 he was peddling himself as an expert in Asian Gang Violence:

http://www.nytimes.com/1991/04/08/us/for-vietnamese-a-wave-of-gang-terror.html

By the early 1990’s, he had taken up residence in Las Vegas, associated with ex-mob lawyer (now mayor!) Oscar Goodman.

Here you can see a review of his storied past, including his claim to have sold classified weapons to a foreign government. Note the continued references to his “expertise” in money laundering and drug trafficking operations in Asia.

Las Vegas Sun column on Cassidy’s background:

http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2000/apr/13/cassidy-embroiled-in-another-caper/

During the highly publicized trial of the murder of Ted Binion, Cassidy first acted on behalf of the defense, taking their money, and then, having been arrested and imprisoned himself, tried to negotiate his own deal to work for the prosecution. Here is a sampling of articles from that period, documenting his consistent record of empty promises and violent behavior:

Death Threat: http://www.reviewjournal.com/lvrj_home/2000/Apr-15-Sat-2000/news/13383866.html

Las Vegas Sun story about Cassidy threats: http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2000/aug/01/break-in-plan-alleged-in-binion-case/ This snippet shows Cassidy’s rip-off of the defense, but also indicates he made threats and bragged about killing people–very powerful.

Las Vegas Review Journal article on his indictment for rape of his wife, April 2003: http://www.reviewjournal.com/lvrj_home/2003/Apr-24-Thu-2003/news/21177468.html

Las Vegas Sun column about Cassidy’s double dealing:  http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2003/jul/29/columnist-jeff-german-cassidy-says-binion-murdered/

You can see in this final article, above, that Cassidy was playing both sides of this case for his own profit.

Although, since the end of the Binion trial, journalistic scrutiny of Cassidy has diminished, there is still some documented activity available online.

The listing of Dharma Centers in Las Vegas, shown below, clearly shows William L. Cassidy going by the name of “Jigme Lingpa.” After he was granted probation and released from prison, he apparently began operating a website, www.nyingmapa.us, which has since been taken down. Note that he was NOT using the name “Tenpa” at that time. Emails in our possession from that time period show him using the name “jigmerinpoche.”

TibetanBuddhistSangha Dharmaweb snippet: http://www.dharmaweb.org/index.php/Nevada

We can only guess about why Cassidy would need to leave Las Vegas and begin using a series of aliases (link to the page), but, reading through his history, one can see he may have made a few enemies there.

Beginning in the fall of 2007, Cassidy made contact with a monk stationed in Mongolia on behalf of Kunzang Palyul Choling, where the monk was helping the Mongolians re-establish their traditional Buddhism. That monk, taken by Cassidy’s eloquent words and heavy praise, came to believe “Tulku Tenpa” was actually a real Tulku. Cassidy presented himself as ill, having only months to live, and living a pathetic existence in a California desert. In a fateful series of events, the monk convinced his teacher to take this ailing man in. The full story can be found in this post:

Post about Cassidy and KPC: https://protectingnyingma2.wordpress.com/2009/12/11/the-tulku-not/

Within several months after his first contact with the monk’s organization, KPC, it became apparent that neither was Cassidy ill, nor was he the Tulku he claimed to be. Unfortunately, he had already managed to gain the trust of the organization, to such a point that he was briefly given access to their financial records.  (He had claimed extensive experience in helping non-profits operate successfully.)  He was in this position for only a matter of days before his fraud was uncovered, but during that time gathered every piece of financial information he could.

Once KPC had received confirmation from His Holiness Penor Rinpoche that Cassidy was not in fact a Tulku, Cassidy was offered the opportunity to stay and be cared for in his illness. He was, however, told he could no longer be involved in organizational operations because of his untruthfulness. Within a day of this news, he left the organization.

Cassidy began a vicious campaign against KPC and Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo, KPC Spiritual Director. He started by offering for download from his blog http://tibetanaltar.blogspot.com all financial documents he had obtained while with KPC and had taken with him when he left:

Post offering documents for download:  a link is not available, as the post has been taken down. The screenshot above is from our archives.

At that point the organization began researching this man, and discovered his extensive history online.

After leaving KPC in Sedona, Arizona, Cassidy returned to California, where his past caught up with him, and he was arrested for violation of his parole. He ultimately spent another year in prison and was released in late January of 2009. You can see his record here:

Upon release from prison in 2009, Cassidy resumed his attacks.

Since late 2009, Cassidy has continued his attacks on KPC and Jetsunma through twitter avatars @crystalsally and @femnikki, amongst others.

Cassidy has now begun a new scheme, attempting to infiltrate yet another branch of Palyul through association with Tulku Ogyen Rinpoche. Cassidy operates Tulku Ogyen’s twitter account and his blog (link to post.) What is particularly dangerous in this arrangement is that a real Tulku in the Palyul Lineage has freely given Cassidy permission to operate his sites. Cassidy did not waste time in taking advantage of this opportunity:

Screenshot of “TulkuOgyen” saying Cassidy was recognized by Dudjom Rinpoche:

Please note that His Holiness Penor Rinpoche advised KPC in 2008 was that no such recognition took place in the Nyingma School.  (And when you read the screenshot above, bear in mind that it is William Cassidy behind that curtain.)

While we are concerned for Tulku Ogyen that Cassidy has managed to gain at least the appearance of his cooperation in these schemes, we can do our best to warn the cyberworld. Please, heed the warning of some who have studied this man for more than two years now:  you can count on Cassidy to lie, to deceive for his own benefit only, and to lack moral restraint. He has a demonstrated record of violent crime.  He has purportedly bragged about killing people. He has an extensive history in gang and mafia-related operations involving the US and Asia.

Do you really want to trust this man?

Tulku Ogyen’s blog

February 21, 2012 Leave a comment

Tulku Ogyen’s blog, ogyentulku.blogspot.com, has recently been resurrected after lying dormant during the time that William Cassidy was held in detainment facing charges of Cyberstalking by US Marshals.

It would appear that Tulku Ogyen is back in communication (or did he ever stop?) with convicted felon, William Cassidy ( https://protectingnyingma2.wordpress.com/2010/12/08/william-l-cassidy-a-conpendium/ ).  Investigators have evidence indicating that William Cassidy is the man behind Tulku Ogyen’s blog, so beware of what you read.  We are dismayed at why a recognized Tulku such as Tulku Ogyen would want to associate himself with a con man.

Protecting Nyingma consistently sees activity from the various centers and locales that have connection to or supported by Tulku Ogyen, and one such reader, who wrote in to us over a year ago, disclosing her knowledge of Tulku Ogyen’s connection to Cassidy, out of fear of retaliation, asked us to remove the post disclosing her knowledge.  Out of concern for her safety, we have removed the blog post.

William Cassidy is attempting to make his way into a legitimate lineage for the purpose of portraying himself as someone of authority in Dharma.  Seeing this type of activity motivates investigators to continue this blog, for sangha, for Dharma students worldwide, in hopes that no other sangha or student will be duped by William Cassidy.  For the students of Tulku Ogyen, please beware of the dangers of this connection, and should you ever meet William Cassidy, know that he is not a man to be trusted.
